Safety in Motion Join Cooper City for a Day of Family Wellness

Get ready to roll, Cooper City! On Saturday, February 28, at 9:00 am, the city will host its highly anticipated Bike Rodeo, Safety & Health Fair. This annual community event brings together families, local law enforcement, and health professionals for a day dedicated to wellness and pedal-powered fun.

Safety First: The Bike Rodeo

The centerpiece of the event is the Bike Rodeo, a specialized obstacle course designed to teach young riders essential cycling skills. Children will navigate through simulated streets, learning how to signal turns, stop at intersections, and avoid hazards.

To ensure every child is riding safely, local experts and BSO deputies typically provide:

  • Helmet Fittings: Experts will be on-site to ensure helmets are snug and positioned correctly.
  • Safety Inspections: Quick “tune-ups” and bike checks to ensure brakes and tires are in top shape.
  • Rules of the Road: Brief, interactive lessons on how to share the road safely with vehicles and pedestrians.

Health and Wellness Fair

Beyond the bikes, the Health Fair offers a wealth of resources for residents of all ages. Local health providers and community partners will host booths featuring:

  • Health Screenings: Free check-ups and wellness consultations.
  • Fitness Demonstrations: Interactive displays from local martial arts and fitness studios.
  • Nutritional Tips: Information on healthy eating habits for active families.

Family Fun and Prizes

It wouldn’t be a Cooper City event without plenty of excitement! In previous years, the fair has featured grand prize drawings for brand-new bicycles and gear. Families can also enjoy music, games, and the chance to interact with the city’s first responders.

The event is free to attend and serves as the perfect opportunity to enjoy the fresh Florida air while investing in your family’s safety and well-being. Mark your calendars for February 28 and bring your bikes, helmets, and smiles!
