How Zen Kitchen Remodel is bringing a more personal, immersive approach to kitchen design in Davie.
Remodeling a kitchen is a significant investment, not only in a home, but in the way a family lives, cooks and gathers. At Zen Kitchen Remodel, the goal is to make that investment feel less overwhelming and far more personal.
Serving homeowners in Davie and across Broward County, Zen Kitchen Remodel takes a hands-on approach, with clients working directly with owner Barbaros Ekici from the initial in-home consultation and design through project coordination and completion. The focus is on individual attention, thoughtful design and confident decisions before construction begins.
Zen Kitchen Remodel carefully limits the number of projects it takes on, allowing for focused attention and direct owner involvement throughout each renovation. For many kitchen remodels, the on-site construction phase can be completed in approximately two to three weeks, depending on the project scope and material readiness.
The process starts where the project ultimately matters most: inside the homeowner’s own home. Instead of asking clients to envision how cabinet samples or countertops might look in a showroom, Zen brings relevant materials directly to them. Cabinet finishes, countertops and other selections can be viewed alongside the home’s existing flooring, lighting, architecture and furnishings.
See It Before You Build It
Through detailed 3D design and immersive, in-home virtual reality, homeowners can experience their proposed kitchen before construction begins. They can virtually walk through the space, seeing the layout, cabinetry, island proportions, finishes and overall flow from a perspective traditional drawings cannot provide. They can also make changes to the design while they are still easy to make.
“See it. Walk through it. Then build it.” captures Zen Kitchen Remodel’s approach: homeowners should experience their new space before committing to construction.
A recent Davie kitchen transformation shows why.
“We just didn’t feel comfortable with any of the designers we had met with over the past few years,” the homeowner says. “When we interviewed Barbaros, we instantly felt a connection with him. He brought a virtual viewer over for us to see what our new kitchen would look like in 3D. That was a really cool experience, and it helped us enhance the design together.”
Heavy soffits and partial walls enclosed the original kitchen, while an older peninsula separated it from the living areas. Zen removed those barriers, embraced the home’s dramatic ceiling height with taller cabinetry and created a central island that serves as a gathering space for cooking, conversation and everyday life.
Warm wood cabinetry, illuminated upper displays, light countertops and backsplash, integrated lighting and brass accents brought sophistication to the finished kitchen while maintaining a strong connection to the home’s architecture.
When the renovation was complete, the homeowners stepped into a kitchen they had already walked through virtually.
A Personal Approach Built on Experience
The philosophy behind Zen Kitchen Remodel is shaped by its founder’s unusual professional journey. Before coming to the United States, Barbaros worked as a judge in Turkey, a career that developed values including careful listening, attention to detail, and accountability for decisions. After arriving in the U.S., he started over, gaining hands-on experience in remodeling before moving into kitchen design and project management. “The work is different, but the principles are the same,” Ekici says. “Listen carefully, understand every detail, and take responsibility for decisions that matter to people’s lives.”
Before founding Zen Kitchen Remodel, Barbaros gained experience across more than 300 remodeling projects.
Today, clients work directly with the owner throughout the renovation, combining individual attention with the confidence that comes from experiencing the design before construction.
