The universal language of dance will bring cultures and communities together this November as the International Dance Festival returns to the Miramar Cultural Center. Featuring colorful costumes, captivating choreography, and rhythms from around the world, the festival promises an unforgettable evening celebrating the beauty and diversity of dance.
The 3rd Annual International Dance Festival will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Miramar Cultural Center, located at 2400 Civic Center Place. Presented by American Dance Language Centers and the nonprofit Rhonda Eyes Alliance, the event brings together talented performers to showcase dance traditions from across the globe.
This year’s festival embraces the theme “The Vision of Healing Through Dance,” highlighting the remarkable ability of movement and artistic expression to bring people together, celebrate cultural heritage, and promote emotional and physical well-being.
A special focus of the 2026 celebration will be KONPA, the lively and rhythmic dance tradition rooted in Haitian culture. Known for its infectious musical rhythms and graceful partner movements, KONPA has united generations of Haitians while introducing audiences around the world to the richness of Caribbean music and dance. The festival’s organizers hope to expand appreciation for this cultural treasure while recognizing its importance to South Florida’s vibrant Haitian community.
Beyond KONPA, the festival will showcase an impressive variety of international dance styles, including ballet, modern dance, ballroom, Argentine tango, salsa, mambo, Bollywood, hip-hop, folkloric dance, and other cultural traditions. Each performance offers audiences an opportunity to experience the distinctive rhythms, movements, and artistic expressions that make dance such an important part of cultures around the world.
The event also serves as a celebration of Miramar’s remarkable cultural diversity. Home to residents representing countries and traditions from across the globe, the city provides a fitting setting for a festival dedicated to bringing people together through the arts.
More than simply an evening of entertainment, the International Dance Festival emphasizes the role dance can play in fostering connections between generations and communities. Whether through a traditional folk dance passed down over centuries or an energetic contemporary performance, dance provides a powerful means of storytelling that transcends language barriers.
The festival is hosted by Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam and offers residents an opportunity to enjoy an international cultural experience without leaving their community.
Tickets range from $55 to $65, plus applicable taxes and fees. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 6:30 p.m.
