On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Plantation, Weston, Cooper City, and Davie will bring the community together for an inspiring evening at Plantation Central Park. This meaningful event celebrates survivors, honors loved ones lost, and raises vital funds to support the fight against cancer through research, advocacy, and patient support.
Relay For Life continues to be one of the American Cancer Society’s signature community events, uniting families, friends, caregivers, and survivors in a shared mission of hope. According to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life brings communities together to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back by funding programs and services that help people prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
This year’s local event embraces a fun Western theme with the rallying cry, “Let’s Give Cancer the Boot!” Guests are encouraged to wear their boots, flannels, and hats and enjoy an evening filled with food, music, raffles, a kids area, survivor and caregiver laps, and the touching Luminaria ceremony, which remains one of Relay’s most meaningful traditions. The 2026 event is presented by UKG.
The Survivor and Caregiver laps will once again shine a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and support that define the cancer journey. As the sun sets, luminarias will illuminate the park in a moving tribute to those we have lost, those still fighting, and those who have survived. These moments are a powerful reminder that Relay For Life is more than a fundraiser. It is a community coming together with compassion, purpose, and determination.
Funds raised through Relay For Life help the American Cancer Society continue its lifesaving work, including cancer research, patient support, and advocacy efforts that improve lives every day. Community members can sign up, donate, volunteer, or form a team to be part of the movement.
