For the past 15 years, Greentree Prep Charter School has been helping students achieve their highest potential through a unique blend of academic rigor, character development, and personalized instruction. Founded by Elizabeth Gonzalez, owner of A World of Knowledge Learning Center, the school was created in response to a growing demand from parents who wanted their children to continue receiving an exceptional educational experience after preschool.
From its inception, Greentree Prep has remained committed to teaching students above standard expectations while fostering a gifted-learning environment where every child can thrive. Serving students from Kindergarten through 8th grade, the school’s mission is to prepare young learners for academic achievement and personal success through rigorous instruction rooted in the classical and liberal arts tradition.
That commitment has produced impressive results. Since opening its doors, Greentree Prep has maintained an “A” school grade and has earned recognition among the top-performing schools in Broward County and Florida for Language Arts and Mathematics.

Greentree Prep provides students with a comprehensive educational experience that extends well beyond traditional classroom instruction. Students participate in core academic subjects while also enjoying enrichment opportunities in Physical Education, Art, and Spanish.
The school takes pride in offering advanced coursework opportunities, including Algebra I and Spanish as high school credit courses for eighth-grade students. These programs allow students to challenge themselves academically while earning valuable credits before entering high school.
Outside the classroom, students can explore a variety of interests through extracurricular activities and clubs. Offerings include chess, soccer, volleyball, music, art, sports agility, Spanish, and more. Parents also play an active role by helping lead clubs and enrichment activities, creating a strong partnership between home and school.
Leadership opportunities are plentiful through programs such as Student Council and Safety Patrol, where students learn responsibility, confidence, and service. Quarterly pep rallies celebrate achievements in academics, attendance, character, and leadership, helping foster a positive school culture where every child feels recognized and valued.
Building Strong Community Connections
One of the qualities that truly sets Greentree Prep apart is its strong sense of community. Families consistently describe the school as a place that feels like family, a welcoming environment where students are known, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
The school actively engages with the local community through service projects and charitable initiatives. Students participate in Thanksgiving food drives, support breast cancer research fundraising efforts, and help collect educational materials for schools in Jamaica, and have prepared over 6,000 personal hygiene kits for areas affected by hurricanes in the Caribbean and/or US in the last few years. These experiences teach students the importance of compassion, service, and global citizenship.
