A great date night does not have to mean an expensive restaurant, pricey concert tickets, or a long drive east. Around Coral Springs, couples can find plenty of ways to spend an evening together without spending much.
Start with a little culture.
The Coral Springs Museum of Art is an easy choice for a low-cost date because admission is free. Even better, the galleries stay open until 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, so you can stop in after work, wander through the latest exhibitions, and have something interesting to talk about besides what to order for dinner. Exhibitions change throughout the year, so it is worth returning.
From there, take a stroll along the Coral Springs ArtWalk on NW 31st Court. The pedestrian-friendly stretch features public art, sculptures, landscaping and places to sit. Grab a coffee, ice cream, or dessert nearby, and you have a relaxed night out for the price of a couple of treats.
For couples who prefer doing something rather than sitting across a table, make the date a little competitive. Riverside Park has nine pickleball courts, plus basketball, walking paths, and outdoor fitness areas. The park is open until 10 p.m., with its courts and fields available into the evening. Bring your own paddles and balls, and you can turn date night into a friendly best-of-three showdown.
Another simple option is a walk at North Community Park. Its paved, lighted walking trails make it particularly well-suited for an evening stroll, and the park also offers basketball, pickleball, and plenty of places to sit and talk. It stays open until 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
And don’t overlook the city’s calendar. Coral Springs hosts numerous free community events throughout the year. This October, for example, Oktoberfest on the City Hall Lawn offers free admission, live music, and entertainment from 4 to 10 p.m. on October 3. You can enjoy the atmosphere without buying much more than a snack or drink.
The best budget date may be the simplest: pick an activity, set a $20 or $30 limit, and see what kind of night you can create. After all, the point of date night isn’t how much you spend. It’s getting out of the house and enjoying some time together.
