SLEIGHBELLS RING – ARE YOU LISTENING

In the park, music will be glistening.  The City of Weston, the Weston Music Society, and the Arts Council of Greater Weston are delighted to invite you to Symphony in the Park: Holiday Favorites.  The free concert will be held at the Town Center Park Amphitheater at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Says Annalisa Walker, Special Events Manager for the City of Weston, “We look forward to a festive program that will engage all ages and get everyone into the holiday spirit.”  The concert features the wonderful South Florida Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso.  She is recognized for her leadership and dedication to bringing world-class music to the community.

As has been part of the tradition of this event, the beloved Disney character Olaf from the movie “Frozen” will be there prior to the performance to greet everyone and pose for pictures with the young and young at heart.

Lou Marett, President of the Weston Music Society, comments, “The WMS is very pleased to be able to partner with the City of Weston and the Arts Council to fulfill our mission to provide fine music of all genres to the community.  A drawing for a $100 Publix gift card will also help us to fund scholarships for students from Cypress Bay and Western High Schools who seek to pursue studies in music-related fields.  We are looking forward to a very special night.”

This event marks a true follow-up to the WMS In-Schools program, which features professional musicians presenting parts of the orchestra in the schools twice a year.  Christy Blackford, Vice President of Education, notes, “This year’s concert is the icing on the cake.   It gives students the opportunity not only to see a quartet perform in an assembly but the entire orchestra in a full performance. This is an amazing opportunity and ties together what we strive to do in the WMS.”

No one ever tires of hearing “Winter Wonderland”, “Noel”, “Feliz Navidad”, or “Oh, Hanukkah”.  You’ll hear these and many more holiday favorites on December 13.  And, there will be a sing-along that will include the carols we all remember and love to sing.  Do join us to kick off the holidays in an uplifting spirit, minus the snow and cold.  We look forward to seeing you then!
