The Rotary Club of Weston Celebrates the Next Generation of Community Changemakers

The Rotary Club of Weston continues its long-standing tradition of uplifting young leaders who exemplify the organization’s core value of “Service Above Self.” Each month, the club recognizes students who shine not only in academics but also in character, community involvement, and leadership. As part of this mission, the Rotary awards more than $50,000 in scholarships annually to support college-bound students across the community.

This month, the club proudly honored two exceptional students whose achievements and personal journeys left a lasting impact on members.

Chloe Harvey, a standout from Cypress Bay High School, impressed the club with her wide-ranging accomplishments. She serves as SGA Historian, Bus Buddies PR Director, Cheer Captain, and Program Director for Early Childhood Education—all while excelling as a Level 10 gymnast and future University of Alabama athlete. Chloe spoke candidly about mental health, balance, and leadership, sharing insights that resonated deeply with attendees.

RJ Garcia, representing Western High School, delivered a powerful message about pride and purpose. As Captain of the Speech and Debate Team and a QuestBridge National College Match Finalist, RJ has already made an impact on national stages. His moving oratory on what it means to be a proud American earned a standing ovation and even a few tears at Yale University earlier this year.

Both students were presented with a certificate and a $250 Rotary scholarship, which will be formally awarded during the annual Scholarship Breakfast on May 7, 2026. The Rotary Club of Weston looks forward to celebrating more of the community’s rising leaders throughout the year.
