Red, White, & Blue: Weston Celebrates Two Milestones This Fourth of July

Weston is preparing for a Fourth of July celebration with extra meaning this year, as the community marks both the 250th birthday of the United States and the 30th anniversary of Weston’s incorporation. With the theme “Two Milestones, One Celebration: America 250 • Weston 30,” the city’s holiday festivities will bring residents together for a patriotic weekend filled with family fun, hometown pride, and red, white, and blue spirit.

The celebration begins on Friday, July 3, with Weston’s Hometown Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at Weston Regional Park, located at 20200 Saddle Club Road. The free event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will feature interactive games, festive photo stations, family activities, food concessions, food trucks, and live music by Frequency Band. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, as a refillable water station will be available. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display beginning at 9:00 p.m.

On Saturday, July 4, the day begins bright and early with the Fourth of July 5K Run/Walk at Weston Town Center, near the Bell Tower. Sponsored by the City of Weston, YMCA of South Florida, and the Weston YMCA Family Center, the race starts at 7:15 a.m. and takes participants through the Weston Town Center area. Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress in their patriotic best, and all participants will receive a finisher medal and race T-shirt. Registration is required.

Later that morning, Weston’s beloved Annual Hometown Fourth of July Parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. at Weston Town Center. The parade will feature local performing groups, fire trucks, police vehicles, community organizations, businesses, and residents celebrating in patriotic style. The route begins at the corner of Town Center Boulevard and Three Village Road, continues east on Three Village Road to Bonaventure Boulevard, then winds through Weston Town Center along Bell Tower Lane to Main Street.

Together, the fireworks celebration, 5K, and parade offer residents a full slate of Independence Day traditions while honoring a once-in-a-generation national milestone. As Weston celebrates America’s 250th birthday and its own 30 years as a city, this year’s Fourth of July festivities promise to be a memorable tribute to freedom, community, and hometown pride.
