Susan Greeley Selected as Signature Artist for Coral Springs Festival of the Arts 2023

The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is pleased to announce Susan Greeley as the 2023 Signature Artist.  The winning entry, entitled “3 O’Clock on the Alley” portrays the Florida Everglades with pine flatwoods in the distance, surrounded by a colorful sawgrass marsh and an afternoon storm blowing in. Mrs. Greeley’s painting will be featured in the Festival’s advertisements and posters sold at the festival. She also earned a $500 stipend and a complimentary booth at the Festival where she will display and sell her artwork. This is Susan Greeley’s fourth win as a featured Signature Artist for the Festival, winning in 2018 with “Everything Under the Sun”, again in 2019 with “Nature Calls” and most recently last year with “Bathed in Sunlight”.

Entries were submitted from artists across Broward and Palm Beach counties and chosen by a blind committee. Pieces are judged on how they represent the Coral Springs Festival of the Arts and artistic lifestyles with original voice, unique style, mastery of medium, technique and professionalism. “Obviously Mrs. Greeley has found the winning combination of how to create the perfect piece of art to represent the Festival. Her work showcases the beauty of Coral Springs and embodies what the Festival stands for,” stated Shirley Richards, founder of the Festival.

Every year, the Annual Signature Artist Competition attracts dozens of submissions from two-dimensional artists and occasionally from sculptors as well.

Mrs. Greeley grew up in Columbus, Ohio, received a Bachelor in Art Education from Ohio State University and earned a Masters in Art Education from Florida Atlantic University. Greeley has taught K-12 Visual Art since 1981. During this time, she was able to develop her own style by experimenting with different media and themes. She enjoys working with watercolors, acrylics, oils, and mixed media and has a passion for capturing the essence of the busy city and the serenity of nature she encounters. “For me, the natural beauty and color in the landscape is the primary focus of my work,” stated Greeley.

The 17th Annual Festival of the Arts at The Walk of Coral Springs will be held on March 18th & 19th. The Festival will feature a professional juried arts and crafts show with over 200 fine artisans and crafters and throughout the weekend, patrons will enjoy a wide variety of live music, dance exhibitions, theater, and literary performances, and a children’s area. In addition, CSFoA will host Gardenfest Coral Springs.
