Kid Hero 5K – Be Someone’s Superhero

Get ready to channel your inner superhero, lace up those running shoes, and hit the pavement! The 20th Annual KID Hero 5K is scheduled for January 27th at Vista View Park in Davie. This family-friendly run/walk event goes beyond your typical road race, as it aims to raise vital funds for Kids In Distress (KID).

Participants are encouraged to embrace their superhero alter egos by donning costumes, whether individually or as part of a team. The day’s festivities will also feature a “Smallville” Kids Fun Run and Fun Zone, a Gotham-themed area, a Power-Up Breakfast, and a lineup of family-friendly entertainment.

All proceeds generated from the race will directly support Kids in Distress, an organization with a 42-year history dedicated to preventing child abuse, preserving families, and providing care for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. KID operates a five-acre multi-program campus in Fort Lauderdale and a four-acre campus in Southwest Ranches, including two family foster group homes.

KID offers a wide range of services, including individual, family, and group therapy and counseling, preschool and aftercare programs, summer camp initiatives, the recruitment, training, and support of foster/adoptive homes, and services focused on prevention, reunification, family preservation, as well as maternal and child health.

The race starts at 7:30 am sharp! There are also virtual race options for everyone to participate, even if you can’t make it. To sign up or learn more, visit www.kidhero5k.org.
