Snow was definitely in the forecast in Pembroke Pines last month. 75 tons of snow, in fact, was trucked in at this year’s annual Snowfest, presented by the City of Pembroke Pines at the Charles F. Dodge City Center. In fact, it was the first time for some little ones to see snow.
The event was a huge success as residents showed off their ugliest Christmas sweaters while the kids visited with Santa. The city of Pembroke Pines tree-lighting ceremony was a highlight of the evening.
In addition to holiday music and entertainment, guests enjoyed a variety of holiday programs. Concessions and food trucks made sure everyone’s tummies were full as they explored South Florida’s version of a winter wonderland.
The entire month of December was filled with holiday events and activities. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not always on the same page as the rest of us leading to a couple of cancellations. Other holiday highlights during the month included Polar Express Family Night at the Southwest Regional Library, Holiday Market at the Frank and the city’s annual Holiday Tea Party.
