It’s Gonna Be “Out Of This World” CHALK IN THE PARK DAY

Do not miss Chalk in the Park Day, a free, family-friendly event presented by the City of Weston and the Arts Council of Greater Weston.  It will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Library Park, 4255 Bonaventure Boulevard, next to the Weston Branch Library.

President of the Arts Council Laura Dobrzanski says, “This event continues to grow every year and we are excited to work with the City of Weston again to kick off our season with a fun, arts-focused event located in one of our stunning parks that provides families and friends the opportunity to come to together and share their artistic talents

Remember when chalk drawing on a sidewalk meant Hopscotch?  This year’s theme is “Out of This World”.  So let your artistic imaginations fly as you create a drawing inspired by this theme.  The event welcomes all ages and all artistic levels and each group will be assigned a square for their creation.  Cash prizes will be awarded for best overall, best theme interpretation, and most original.

Annalisa Walker, Special Events Manager for the City of Weston, comments, “This year we are excited to welcome back professional chalk artist Ken Mullen who will once again leave us in amazement with his creative 3-D design showcasing our theme “Out of this World”. We look forward to this year’s addition – a professional disc jockey – who is sure to keep us entertained while artists of all ages and skill levels create their chalk art masterpieces. “

You must pre-register to participate by going to the Arts Council website at www.1weston.com  Participants are asked to arrive at 1:30 to get their chalk and set up prior to the 2:00 pm start.
