The Town of Davie celebrated it first 100 years with a Centennial Celebration Kickoff Event on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Davie School Museum & Event Venue, 6650 Griffin Road.
Families from throughout the town came for a whole lot of Davie fun, including a petting farm, pony rides, fresh orange juice squeezing, a scavenger hunt, Old Davie School Tours, a photo booth, and so much more.
This family-friendly event marked the start of a year-long anniversary celebration as we honor Davie’s 100 years since the Town was originally incorporated. The day started with an opening ceremony featuring Mayor Judy Paul and Town Council members. People from throughout the community attended.
In addition, the Old Davie School Museum and Event Venue provided free interactive activities to learn about Davie’s history, writing with dip-ink pens in a 1920s classroom, making orange juice in a 1940s packinghouse, and self-guided tours of the Old Davie School. We can’t wait for all the centennial celebration activities throughout this year!
