More than just a walk, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life brings together passionate supporters who embody the American Cancer Society vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. This volunteer-led experience unites communities to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and raise funds to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
The local installment of the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life will take place at Cooper City High School on March 16th, 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm. It is open to everyone in the community. Relay For Life is a movement that unites survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and participants in the belief that the future can be cancer-free. With 2.5 million participants worldwide, it is the largest peer-to-peer fundraising event.
At Relay For Life events, individuals facing cancer are not alone. Each year, over 2,500 Relay events take place nationwide to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers. These events offer special activities throughout the year, allowing survivors and caregivers to connect with others and access a strong support system.
No donation is too small. Each and every dollar counts. Donations help fund groundbreaking cancer research, patient care programs, and can make a difference in communities like ours. With every donation, you are helping the American Cancer Society save lives.
The “Broward Power” relay’s fundraising goal for this year is $135,000. These funds are utilized to support cancer research, fund education programs, and provide services to cancer patients and their families.
The American Cancer Society’s mission is more important than ever, as the needs of people facing cancer continue despite the ongoing crisis. Funds raised through Relay For Life help to sustain the Society’s efforts in cancer research, providing a 24/7 helpline, and ensuring patients receive the care and support they need.
