This Is No Joke: Weston Outdoor Pops Concert Returns to Weston Town Center on April 1st

On Saturday, April 1, 2023, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso, returns to Weston Town Center for the always popular free Outdoor Pops Concert. This year’s program features talented vocalists performing a wide variety of genres.  The program begins at 6:30pm behind the Bell Tower.

Diane Marett, Vice President of Events for the Weston Music Society, comments,

“We are proud to be bringing this wonderful cultural event to Weston. The South Florida Symphony is a first-class orchestra and their program will appeal to audience members of all ages.”

This free family-friendly concert, presented by the Weston Music Society and the City of Weston in partnership with the Arts Council of Greater Weston, is a community favorite with something for all ages.  This year, highlights will include music from Mama Mia, (bring your dancing shoes), Disney’s Encanto, (a very special enchantment), Harry Potter, (everyone’s favorite Wizard), Frank Sinatra (bring the grandparents), and more.

President of the Weston Music Society Gina Catone notes, “This concert is such a perfect follow-up to our In-Schools Program where the students learn the individual instruments.  Now they can hear the sounds of all of them playing together and experience a full orchestra for free!”

Some chairs will be set up but feel free to bring your own lawn chairs to enjoy this musical treat.  Tell your friends, your neighbors, your families about this wonderful cultural offering.  Annalisa Walker, Special Events Manager for the City of Weston, says, “This event brings a new level of music appreciation to our city.  Our residents have enjoyed it for years, and we know this year will be better than ever.”
