Maria Corina Martinez was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. With a background in Business Administration, she moved to South Florida in 1990. She started her real estate career in 1997 to help fellow Venezualan friends and family find places to live. 25 years later Maria leads MC Group, one of the most successful real estate teams in South Florida.
We sat down with Maria to learn more.
Congratulations on 25 years! Maintaining that level of success in South Florida is quite an accomplishment. What do you attribute your success to?
My college major in business administration helped me have the structure needed to succeed. I started my real estate career in 1997 as I was looking for my own home in Weston. Shortly after I began assisting my family, friends and fellow Venezuelans to find their new home in South Florida. I quickly realized I could become a full-time professional in servicing clients in all areas of Real Estate. I also had the blessing of having a great Mentor in my husband and business partner, Robert Coalla who has provided me with valuable guidance, support and coaching to help me thrive in my real estate career. 25 years later, I wouldn’t dream of doing anything else. I strive to offer and provide to my team and to all of our clients and customers the utmost quality experience. What areas of real estate does your team specialize in?
We specialized in General Real Estate. We offer advice and counsel in all areas of real estate services, whether listing a property for sale, working with a buyer to secure their dream home, leasing services or real estate investments. We also have a solid base of foreign clients and investors which has been a strong core of our business. We Ranked as the Top 2 Sales Group in Keller Williams Weston.
Sounds great! You’ve built a solid base in Weston. Does the MC Group cover other South Florida areas as well?
Weston is our hometown, but we do serve surrounding areas from the greater Miami markets to Boca Raton. We are very active in Weston, Pembroke Pines, Miramar Davie and neighboring cities.

Is this a buyers’ or sellers’ market?
Florida, for the most part, is still in a seller’s market as the state is in high demand for domestic and International Buyers. South Florida, specifically, is a magnet for international buyers securing investment properties, second and/or third homes. International buyers are coming from everywhere, Europe, Asia, and especially from Latin America. But make no mistake, change is coming. We are entering into a shift in the market. Inventory is still low but it is gradually accumulating, Appreciation has stopped, and rising interest rates will continue market trends. If you are a buyer in today’s market, you now have less competition than in the past few months with more properties to consider.
