Salvatore “Toti” Granata was born in Catania, Italy, the second-largest city in Sicily. The city was a hotbed of the Mediterranean culinary tradition and was the source of a life-long passion for cooking. He went on to study at the Scuola Italian Pizzaioli in Venice, collaborating with world Pizza Champion Chef Graziano Bertuzzo.
After developing businesses and restaurants in Spain, Italy, and Latin America, Toti, along with his wife Paola and daughters Nicole and Martina, came to the United States in 2016. They opened Pizza Lovers Bistro in Weston with one thought in mind: offer authentic Italian meals with top-quality ingredients at affordable prices. Their original restaurant was so successful that they went on to open another location in Plantation.

Tell us about Pizza Lover’s Bistro.
Pizza Lover’s Bistro is a place where flavors and aromas tell stories. They take us to the happiest moments of our childhood. Pizza Lovers is an Italian restaurant with a simple and warm ambiance, it’s culinary offerings include the most authentic flavors of homemade Italian cuisine. Pizza Lovers is a true family business! We have love and passion for what we do. We only use the finest ingredients, imported from Italy.
Sounds Fascinating, what makes Pizza Lovers different from other Italian restaurants?
One key difference is how we prepare our dough. The two factors for making the best pizzas are time and temperature. It takes 48 hours for our dough to properly mature. This must be done at a very specific temperature. Properly prepared dough makes our pizza more digestible and, with greater flavor.
Do you offer other items, in addition
to pizza?
Of course! We have many other authentic Italian dishes in addition to pizza. Some highlights of our cuisine are authentic risotto alla milanese with ossobuco, spaghetti with clams, lasagna della Nonna, fettuccine al tartufo, swordfish alloa Siciliana and la pizza con la BURRATA. We also have a wonderful selection of authentic Italian beers and wines for our guests to choose from.
