The Weston Art Guild Continues to Inspire Local Visual Artists

The Weston Art Guild (WAG)  was formed in December 2005 as a nonprofit “all volunteer” visual arts organization with the purpose of creating a cultural atmosphere in the community by educating the public on the importance of all forms of visual art.  Dues are $35 a year. The Weston Guild accepts all visual artists – painters, sculptors, jewelry makers, photographers, etc.  Currently, most of the members are from Weston, Davie, Southwest Ranches, and Pembroke Pines.

The Guild provides its members with the opportunity to meet other artists in Southwest Broward and exchange information on art events in the county and surrounding counties. The Guild also provides the members with outlets to show and sell their work.  At the monthly membership meetings, we have demos by different artists showing various art techniques.  In the future, we hope to provide workshops and additional educational programs.

Monthly Meetings

WAG holds monthly meetings at the Davie Pin Island Multipurpose Center, 3801 S Pine Island Road. This month’s meeting will be on November 28, 2022, from 7:00 pm till 8:30 pm. A guest artist is invited to each meeting, where they demonstrate their trade. Last month, Melinda Gallop demonstrated hand-painting techniques.

The Weston Art Guild encourages the residents of southwest Broward who are interested in purchasing a piece of art to think of their local artists.  Art is a matter of personal taste and the Guild has many very accomplished artists.  The Guild exhibits its artwork in various venues throughout Broward County. The members bring all of their diverse cultural backgrounds into the exhibits showing the wide range of art being created by the Weston Art Guild.

Annual Juried Art Show

The Weston Art Guild’s 14th Annual Juried Art Show will run from December through mid-January at the Weston Branch Library. The exhibit is open to all Guild members.
