Fifteen years ago, a special group of volunteers at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation spent their time advocating and raising funds for the hospital to reinforce its’ mission to heal an individual’s body, mind and spirit.
These volunteers, appropriately called The Diamond Angels, have raised more than 6 million dollars since its inception in 2004. Their main event, “The Fairy Tale Ball”, supports children, families, programs, services, and facilities at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
This year The Diplomat Beach Resort grand ballroom will undergo a winter wonderland transformation. The Frozen-themed fundraiser, presented by Ultimate Software will be held on Saturday, November 17th at the newly-renovated Hollywood Beach property. The much-anticipated “15th annual Fairy Tale Ball” is one that would make Disney’s
Queen Elsa proud.
The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and auctions of dream vacations and unique experiences. Guests will enjoy and sing along with The Lords of 52nd Street, musical legends from Billy Joel’s band. They will also have the opportunity to hear a heart-warming emotional story from a family whose child received life-saving treatment at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
“We’re committed to making things better for families in our community coping with pediatric health issues,” said Fairy Tale Ball Chair Ronnie Cloyd, a leader of the volunteer Diamond Angels that annually host the event on behalf of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation. “The gala definitely has something for everyone and the impact of all our efforts is significant and long-lasting.”
