It’s been more than seven years since Cleveland Clinic opened the Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center at the southeast corner of North University Drive and the Sawgrass Expressway.
“Our goal in establishing the center was to bring high-quality healthcare and world-class services closer to home for the residents in Coral Springs, north Broward and southern Palm Beach County,” says colorectal surgeon Juan Nogueras, MD, the center’s medical director. “We are doing just that every day we open our doors to patients.”
A Full Array of Services
The three-story, 73,000 square foot facility provides a full range of healthcare services including specialty care, outpatient surgery, endoscopy and advanced imaging services.
“When the Coral Springs center opened in the summer of 2018, we had a team of physicians onsite representing 17 medical specialties,” says Dr. Nogueras. “We have since expanded to over 20 specialties providing even greater access to care for area residents.”
Services include cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, neurology, podiatry, hand surgery and urology among many others.
Local residents have convenient access to two Cleveland Clinic Primary Care offices, each within two miles of the Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center. The Parkland medical office offers primary care and physical therapy, and Coral Medical Care location offers additional primary care options.
Modern Design, Innovative Technology
Cleveland Clinic’s Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center was designed to be a healing environment, with large,
naturally lit waiting rooms and carefully curated art on the walls. It is both modern and easy-to-navigate.
The facility includes 40 exam rooms, 24 prep and recovery rooms, two endoscopy suites and four advanced operating rooms.
“Our ambulatory surgery center on the third floor has large operating rooms that are well equipped with state-of-the-art technology,” describes Dr. Nogueras, who performs outpatient colorectal surgeries at the location. “And we are supported by highly skilled surgical teams of nurses and technicians.”
Innovative technology and minimally invasive approaches have made it possible for an increasing number of surgical procedures to be performed in an outpatient setting, allowing patients to go home the same day. These include robotic-assisted joint replacement, surgery for head, neck and throat cancers, and minimally invasive hernia repair and gall bladder removal, just to name a few.
The location also has a full-scale imaging center that offers digital and 3D mammograms, CT scans, 3T MRI, ultrasounds, general X-rays and fluoroscopy. “It is very convenient for our patients to obtain imaging and diagnostic services here in Coral Springs,” notes Dr. Nogueras.
