For NFL offensive lineman Jon Feliciano, giving back to his community is as important as protecting his quarterback. The 10-year NFL veteran and proud Western High School alumnus returned to his alma mater in Davie last month with a mission: to ensure that local children started the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
Feliciano hosted a backpack giveaway at Western High, distributing hundreds of brand-new backpacks filled with school essentials to children from families facing financial hardship. For many students, the gesture means far more than just pencils and notebooks, it represents opportunity, confidence, and the knowledge that someone believes in them.
“Growing up, I know how tough it can be to make sure you have everything for school,” Feliciano said during the event. “If I can help take that pressure off a family and make sure kids walk into class ready to learn, then I’m doing my job off the field too.”
