Lights, Laughs & Unity Davie & Cooper City Celebrate National Night Out

Summer in South Florida wasn’t just about sunshine; it was also about community! On Tuesday, August 5, the Town of Davie welcomed residents to its annual National Night Out at Betty Booth Roberts Park. Neighbors mingled under the evening sky, built new friendships, and strengthened ties with the Davie Police Department, all in a laid-back, feel-good atmosphere.

Just a few days later, on Friday, August 8, Cooper City hosted its own National Night Out & Back to School Bash at the BSO Cooper City Police District on Stirling Road. The celebration was a hit, with law enforcement demos, a DJ pumping out tunes, lively inflatables, face painting, balloon twisting, tasty bites from food trucks, and even school supply giveaways that had families smiling.

Together, the two events created a summer highlight: Davie’s gathering offered a cozy evening under the palms to connect with neighbors and officers, while Cooper City brought the high-energy excitement of back-to-school season, complete with music, games, and plenty of freebies.

Both nights were free, family-friendly, and full of laughter. In the end, residents left with memories of community spirit shining just as brightly as the South Florida sun. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, promoting a sense of community and safety.
