Mason’s British Market may be new to South Florida. Yet, it’s already become a beloved local gem, a warm, nostalgic slice of the UK inspired by one family’s Glasgow roots and a passion for sharing the tastes and traditions they grew up loving.
A Heritage-Filled Beginning
Owner Andrew Mason opened the shop in July 2025 as a tribute to his late father, who grew up as the eldest of ten in Bellshill, Scotland, before immigrating to the United States. Opening the market was a way to carry on the family’s traditions, preserve the flavours of home, and offer the kind of proper British market the community had been missing. The response has been overwhelming, a blend of kindness, excitement, and support that has made the Masons feel instantly welcomed.
Authentic British Comforts
Step inside, and customers will find all the classics that make British food so comforting: crisps, biscuits, chocolates, and nostalgic sweets alongside freezer favorites such as sausage rolls, pies, pasties, and Yorkshire puddings. Mason’s is also known for carrying some of the hardest-to-find items in South Florida, including Monster Munch, Bisto varieties, specialty teas, proper British bacon, and an unmatched selection of frozen goods, with Steak Bakes and Cheese & Onion Slices topping many shopping lists.
Holiday traditions are celebrated in full, too. Seasonal offerings like Christmas crackers, mince pies, Advent calendars, selection boxes, hot cross buns, and Easter eggs ensure that customers can keep their annual rituals alive, no matter how far they are from home.
A Place That Feels Like Home
Mason’s British Market attracts a wonderful mix of British and Irish expats and curious locals eager to explore new flavours. The shop is designed to feel familiar and welcoming, warm, friendly, and filled with the scents and stories of the UK. Some of the most memorable moments happen when customers spot a childhood favorite they haven’t seen in years. Many have teared up, FaceTimed family members, or shared stories right in the aisles.
Looking Ahead
With plans to expand their frozen foods, cheeses, and Scottish specialties, Mason’s continues to grow while staying true to its core values: authenticity, quality, and heritage. Above all, the Masons hope every visitor feels like family, appreciated, cared for, and excited to return.
