Experience Meets Innovation– How the Sklar Team Continues to Lead Weston Real Estate

With over 17 years as Weston’s #1 real estate team and 6 consecutive years as Broward County’s #1 Coldwell Banker Large Team, the Sklar Team’s track record is unparalleled. Rose, Dean, and Cody Sklar bring a personalized, family-first experience to every client.

As a seamless team, they work collaboratively to ensure their clients receive the full benefit of their combined expertise and care. Their experience, knowledge, and results-driven approach have earned them a reputation as the go-to real estate team in South Florida.

We sat down with Rose Sklar to learn more about what makes them so successful.

Why did you choose to build a family business in real estate?

Real estate is built on trust, relationships, and long-term commitment – the same values that define family. Dean and I have been partners in life for decades, and when our son, Cody, joined the business, it felt natural and effortlessly flowed. We combined our experience with a new, fresh perspective.

What are the unique perks and challenges of working as a family team?

Our clients benefit from a proper balance of strengths. Dean’s background as a PGA golf professional gives him a unique edge with country club and golf course communities. I bring decades of luxury experience and national visibility, and Cody brings a Gen Z mindset. He also leads our technology, systems, and digital marketing.

Have you added any new tools to enhance the seller experience?

The Sklar Team has expanded its luxury marketing toolbox to include auctions when appropriate. While high-end photography, video, and digital exposure remain core to our strategy, auctions can create urgency and attract a highly motivated buyer pool. A recent auction confirmed this approach by driving competition and confidence and yielding a result that reflected the home’s actual value. Having both traditional and auction strategies allows us to tailor a marketing plan for each property.

Tell us how your national presence helps sell South Florida luxury properties.

Many luxury buyers come from outside South Florida. Our national and international networks give us direct access to those markets. From speaking on national panels to attending elite industry events in cities like New York, we build relationships with top agents who represent serious buyers. That reach allows us to showcase listings far beyond the local market.

You are a long-time Weston resident. Has living in Weston for over 25 years shaped your approach?

Weston is home. It is where we raised our family and built deep roots. Our clients are often our neighbors and friends, which creates a level of care and accountability that goes beyond a transaction. We do not just sell homes here; we help families find their place in a community we genuinely love.

What sets the Sklar Team apart in today’s luxury market?

The Sklar Team has partnered with The Jills Zeder Group—the #1 real estate team in the nation—to represent Akai Estates, an ultra-luxury new construction development. With the first residents moving in 2025, this premier project showcases the Sklar Team’s reach, relationships, and ability to perform at the highest level of the market.

Tell us about the auction process. What made it successful?

The auction allowed us to control the timeline and bring the right buyers together at the exact right moment. This was a strategic decision, not a distressed sale. The home was beautifully prepared, buyers came informed and confident, and competition replaced negotiation. The result was a strong outcome and a delighted seller.

You are very active in the community. Why is giving back so important to the Sklar family?

Giving back is central to who we are. I serve on the board of the South Florida Mental Health and Wellness Summit, helping expand access to education and resources. Cody advocates through @FoodAllergyCody on Instagram, supporting families navigating food allergies. Dean, a PGA Golf Professional, has written a complimentary monthly golf article for Weston residents for over 20 years, giving back to the community. These efforts reflect our belief in using our platform to make a meaningful impact beyond real estate.

What sets some homes apart from others in the market?

Proper preparation remains one of the most critical factors in a successful sale. Fresh paint, thoughtful staging, and updated finishes help buyers connect emotionally and see a home as ready to move in. In a market with more choices, presentation makes the difference between sitting and selling. Homes that show well sell faster and often command a higher return.

What are your predictions for Real Estate in Weston?

Looking ahead to 2026, I expect the Weston real estate market to continue shifting toward balance rather than extremes. Buyers will have more breathing room, while well-priced, well-prepared homes will continue to sell and sell well. Inventory in the luxury segment should remain selective, which will help support values, but success will depend heavily on strategy from day one.

What stands out most is this: despite a year many considered difficult, our team had our best year yet. That reinforces what truly matters in any market. Who you work with. How a home is presented and prepared. The strength of the marketing strategy and reach. Willingness to think beyond the traditional playbook. And, just as important, skilled negotiation when it counts.

In 2026, results will not be driven by headlines or predictions, but by execution. The homes that stand out and the sellers who partner with the right team will be the ones who succeed.
