ARTS COUNCIL OF WESTON SUMMER INSTAGRAM PHOTO CONTEST BRINGS IN RECORD SUBMISSIONS

Peeking Through the Windows was the theme for the 2025 Summer Instagram Photo Contest, presented by the Arts Council of Greater Weston.  Submissions hit a new high with 151 photos from 27 talented photographers.  

Lifrancis Rojas, ACGW Contest Director, commented, “I’m very pleased with the results this year. Photographers responded wonderfully, showing great creativity while staying true to the theme. We welcomed all skill levels, and each participant gave their very best. Thank you to all the amazing photographers who participated. Your creativity and talent shone through every image. We can’t wait to share this inspiring collection with the community!”

The judges were, themselves, outstanding photographers.  They included Phoenix Marks, Mabe Fernandez and Carlos Munoz, plus Lifrancis, herself a visual artist.  

Top awards went to:

1st Place: Katja Akerman – $100

2nd Place: Julissa Parisi – $75

3rd Place: Kabir Ghandi – $50

Most Liked Photo on Instagram: Flavia Celestino – $25

An awards ceremony, open to the public, will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, 6:00 PM at Experience Art Gallery @ Weston Town Center.  

Laura Dobrzanski, President of the Arts Council of Greater Weston, is thrilled with this year’s showings.  “I’m truly impressed by this year’s submissions—there is an incredible amount of talent in our community. It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone to experience these works, whether at the library in September, during our reception, or at Experience Gallery in October. We encourage everyone to take part and celebrate local creativity.”
