The Annual Southern Handcraft Society Craft Show offers a delightful array of beautiful and unique items created by local club members, artists, and crafters from Dade and Palm Beach counties. Fall-themed items—including Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations, as well as Christmas and Hanukkah creations—are prominently featured. These distinctive pieces are not available in local stores; they are truly one of a kind and hold special value.
Each year, visitors rave about the fantastic quality of the show and their enjoyment of the diverse offerings. Attendees can explore original paintings, framed art, and a variety of handmade items such as wooden crafts, knitted and crocheted goods, embroidered pieces, and quilts. Additionally, there are seasonal decorations for tables, door hangers, wreaths, tree ornaments, and decorations.
A selection of handmade soaps is also available. The Green section features items made from recycled materials, including utensils, wooden spoons, typewriter keys, mahjong tiles, and bingo chips. The Country Kitchen showcases unique homemade jellies, jams, breads, cookies, cakes, and local honey.
Jewelry options range from exquisite beaded creations, including crystals, to one-of-a-kind designs of costume jewelry, earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, hair ornaments, and brooches, all handcrafted with care.
The first craft show took place in 1989, just one year after the club was established. It has continued to thrive annually in various locations, aside from a brief hiatus due to COVID-19. Each year, hundreds of people attend, admiring the beautiful creations and the creative efforts of Southern Handcraft Society members, local artists, and crafters. This event is free to the public, including free parking, making it an enjoyable outing for all ages to appreciate the local handcrafts lovingly made by our community.
