CHALK IS FOR SIDEWALKS, NOT JUST BLACKBOARDS

That is happily correct!  On Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Library Park, at promptly 11:00 am, The City of Weston and the Arts Council of Greater Weston are delighted to announce the 6-year return of Chalk in the Park that draws hundreds from the community.  ACGW President notes, “Chalk in the Park has become a vibrant tradition that brings creativity to the sidewalks of Weston. We’re excited to join the City of Weston in turning the outdoors into a colorful canvas where families, friends, and neighbors can connect through art in a truly joyful way.”

The event is free and open to the public.  No registration is required.  There will be 70 spaces open for you to create your masterpieces on a first-come, first-served basis.  Chalk boxes will be provided to participants.

The theme this year is “Into the Jungle”. Whether you’re sketching tropical wildlife, tangled vines, or your own inner wilderness, this theme is all about exploration.

This year, you can look forward to photo ops, lawn yard games, a DJ, vendor booths, and a sweet treat vendor.   You can enjoy the return of a live art demonstration with 3d Chalk Artist, Ken Mullen, who can be found on social media @MellowMonkeyArt.

Judging will follow immediately after the event, which ends at 1:00 pm.  Winners will be announced a few days after the event, and cash prizes will be awarded for the following categories at $75 each:

Best Youth 10-12
