Rotary Club of Weston Community Drives Making a Lasting Impact

The Rotary Club of Weston is turning everyday generosity into life-changing support through a series of Community Drive Initiatives that run year-round. Each initiative reflects the power of partnerships and the belief that when we work together, we build a stronger, more caring community.

Clothing Our Community has grown into one of Rotary’s most impactful service projects. What began with just 52 boxes, about 1,300 pounds, in its first six months has expanded into a structured program now distributing 10,000+ pounds of clothing annually. Charities and nonprofit organizations benefit directly thanks to the collaboration of donors, volunteers, and partners who ensure clothing reaches those who need it most.

During the holiday season, the Community Toy Drive unites neighbors, schools, businesses, and partners to bring joy to children who might otherwise go without. In its first year, more than 1,500 children received thoughtfully matched new gifts, with over 3,000 projected this season. More than toys, it has become a community tradition that demonstrates how collaboration multiplies compassion.

The Soles4Souls Shoe Collection transforms lightly worn shoes into opportunity. Donated pairs not only reduce local waste but also support women’s empowerment programs in Haiti and Honduras, where shoes become the foundation for small businesses, giving women income opportunities that help break the cycle of poverty.

Through our partnership with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank, Rotary helps provide diapers to disadvantaged families while promoting healthier outcomes for children.

The Club also collects pantry items to support Harvest Drive, LifeNet4Families, and other trusted partners serving families in need. In addition, the Little Library initiative provides families with access to children’s books, encouraging literacy and learning throughout the community.

Together, these initiatives reflect Rotary’s guiding principle of Service Above Self and this year’s motto: United for Good. They show how collaboration builds stronger communities and how small contributions, when combined, create lasting impact.
