Later this year, Weston will break ground on a modern indoor recreation complex at Vista Park—an ambitious addition to the city’s parks system currently in the design phase. Spearheaded by the City as part of its Capital Improvement Program, the project aims to deliver a state-of-the-art facility tailored to diverse ages and activities.
Slated to include multipurpose community rooms, full-size indoor courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, and fitness spaces suitable for classes and community gatherings, the recreation complex aims to provide Weston residents with year-round programming beyond traditional outdoor spaces.
This project complements other park enhancements currently underway, such as artificial turf fields and a new shelter gazebo, highlighting the City’s integrated, multi-phase approach to upgrading Vista Park.
Community input is playing a central role in shaping the complex. Weston city leaders recently held an open house (May 30, 2025) to collect resident feedback on design concepts, programming needs, and layout preferences . According to the City’s social announcements, residents were actively invited to participate in shaping “the future of Weston Parks,” a deliberate move to ensure the facility reflects neighborhood priorities.
On the technical side, the City has posted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural services for “Vista Park Phase II – Recreation Center,” signaling design professionals will be contracted later this year.
When complete, the indoor Recreation Complex will transform Vista Park into Weston’s first facility offering climate-controlled fitness, team sports, youth programs, and community events in one centralized location. With construction forecast to begin once final designs and budget approvals are in place, the project represents a major step forward in Weston’s commitment to enhancing quality of life, promoting active lifestyles, and fostering social connections through vibrant public facilities.
