With over 25 years of service, Chief Mock brings leadership, innovation, and community focus to Coral Springs.
A New Era of Leadership for CSPD
On April 4, 2025, Brad Mock was sworn in as Coral Springs Police Chief during a Transfer of Command Ceremony, formally welcoming him to his new position. With over 25 years of service in the Coral Springs Police Department, Chief Mock brings a powerful blend of experience, innovation, and deep community ties to his new role.
He succeeds former Police Chief Brad McKeone, who now serves as Deputy City Manager. As the new Police Chief for Coral Springs, Mock will oversee a department of 225 sworn officers and nearly 100 civilian staff, tasked with protecting and serving the city’s approximately 135,000 residents.
Service, Strategy, and Special Ops
Chief Mock began his CSPD career in 1998 as a Patrol Officer. Over the years, he took on specialized roles in the Tactical and Gang Unit, K-9 Unit, and served as SWAT Commander for 10 years. As Captain, he managed Special Operations and Criminal Investigations and most recently served as Interim Chief.
A key advocate of modernization, Mock has led several technology-forward initiatives including Project Blue Shield, which enhances real-time surveillance through public-private partnerships, and the department-wide upgrade of body camera systems. Under the leadership of the new police chief in Coral Springs, the continued development of the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) remains a top priority.
A Chief Who Calls Coral Springs Home
Mock’s story is rooted in the community he now leads. A Coral Springs resident since 1984 and graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, he lives in the city with his wife and three children, who all attend Coral Springs schools. He’s also active in local youth sports as a coach and is an avid saltwater fisherman.
“I believe in a unified approach to public safety,” said Mock. “It’s not just about what we do as a department. It’s about building trust, listening to our neighbors, and partnering with schools, businesses, and fellow agencies to make Coral Springs the safest place it can be.”
Endorsed by City Leadership
During the swearing-in ceremony, City Manager Catherine Givens praised Mock’s lifelong connection to Coral Springs:
“When searching for our city’s next top cop, we didn’t have to look far,” she said. “Chief Mock is deeply rooted in this community—he lives here, raises his children here, and coaches youth sports in our parks.”
Mock holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University, is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, and is an active member of the National Tactical Officers Association and the Florida Police Chiefs Association where the new police chief of Coral Springs contributes significantly.
