The centerpiece of the celebrations was the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration held on Friday, January 17 at the ArtsPark Amphitheater in Downtown Hollywood.

The evening began at 7:00 p.m. with welcoming remarks and speeches from Mayor Josh Levy and city commissioners, reflecting on Dr. King’s impact and the importance of continuing his work toward equality and justice. Following the addresses, attendees were treated to a performance by the South Broward High School Concert Band, showcasing the talents of local students and setting a harmonious tone for the evening.

As the night progressed, the audience experienced the dynamic rhythms of Fushu Daiko, a renowned Taiko drumming ensemble that captivated listeners with their powerful and synchronized performance. The celebration culminated with a concert by the ReaXion Band, whose energetic music encouraged attendees to dance and celebrate the spirit of unity.

In addition to the main event, Hollywood residents participated in various community service activities throughout the weekend, embodying Dr. King’s vision of service and solidarity. Local organizations coordinated efforts such as neighborhood clean-ups and educational workshops, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared purpose among participants.
