The 21st Annual Groundhog Day event is set to take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the Blue Wave Gastropub, a charming venue located at 901 N. Broadwalk, near Indiana Street.
The morning begins with a hearty breakfast served from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., featuring delicious offerings prepared by Chef Jorge and the Blue Wave team. Guests can also enjoy freshly brewed coffee from Hollywood’s own Koffee Kult, adding a local touch to the meal. A $15 donation covers breakfast, with all proceeds going to support the Hollywood Beach Lifeguard Competition Team and the Hollywood Lions Club Scholarship Fund, ensuring that this event gives back to the community in meaningful ways.
At 7:30 a.m., the excitement builds as participants take part in the legendary Groundhog Swim, a refreshing dip in the Atlantic Ocean that has become a symbolic ritual to welcome the promise of warmer days. Adding to the festivities, the event includes a live stream from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, connecting attendees to the iconic groundhog weather prediction, a staple of this quirky holiday.
Free parking is available from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the lot on the corner of A1A and Indiana Street, generously provided by ASTA Parking. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full experience and secure convenient parking.
