Broward County has reached a remarkable milestone, earning an “A” school rating—a clear reflection of the collective efforts of the entire community. The leadership of the recently retired Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata was pivotal in achieving this success. Together with Deputy Superintendent Hepburn, now the new superintendent, they laid the groundwork for an environment where both students and educators could excel through their strategic vision and hard work.
In light of this accomplishment, Mr. Hepburn, now the Superintendent, praised the unwavering commitment of the dedicated staff who made this achievement possible. “This is a proud moment for all of us,” Hepburn remarked. “Amazing work by our staff, amazing work by our teachers, our principals, our custodians, our bus drivers, our cafeteria workers, our clerical staff. I can go on and on and on,” he said.
He also thanked the nearly 260,000 students who attend the district’s public schools every day.
“Thanks to our students and our families. They really took charge of their kids’ education. Our students took charge of their own education,” said Hepburn.
