On May 9th, at the Weston Community Center, the Arts Council of Greater Weston held its annual reception to thank volunteers who make possible community events so enjoyed by our residents. Volunteers were in attendance from all Arts Council events including the Weston Foreign Film series, Chalk in the Park, Celebrate the Arts, Weston World Fest, Student Artist Showcase and the Summer Instagram Photo Contest.
Volunteers were able to mingle and enjoy light appetizers. City of Weston representatives and members of nonprofit organizations including the Weston Music Society, the Weston Art Guild, Weston Friends of the Library, and Okapi Wanderers Rugby, all of whom join us to help make these events possible, were also there.
Arts Council Board Member Sumathy Vala was cited for her assistance in all ACGW events and activities. Her dedication and help continue to be invaluable.
Laura Dobrzanski noted, “We typically say it takes a village to put on our events and on behalf of the community and Arts Council, we thank all of our volunteers for their service in creating high-quality events for our residents. We also appreciate the help of our media partners who have spread the word about our events”
