Collins Elementary School, a staple in the Dania Beach community with a rich heritage, celebrated its 65th anniversary on Tuesday, March 19. The event commemorates the school’s strong history of academic achievement, community engagement, and fostering a nurturing learning environment for generations of students.
“For 65 years, Collins Elementary has been a cornerstone of our community,” Principal Tracy Jackson said. “We are incredibly proud of the legacy of excellence we have established and the positive impact we have had on countless students. This anniversary celebration is a chance for us to come together, reminisce about the past, and look forward to a bright future.”
Event organizers prepared a fun-filled morning for the entire community. The festivities kicked off with a parade featuring Collins Elementary students and staff, followed by a ceremony on the basketball court to honor the school’s achievements and celebrate its students. The program included remarks from District and City of Dania Beach officials, and – adding to the significance of the event – the Collins Family, including Mrs. Leola Collins, for whom the school is named.
Collins Elementary welcomed the entire community to celebrate this momentous occasion. The event was truly a day of joy, laughter, reminiscing, and celebration of the school’s enduring legacy.
