A record number of photo enthusiasts – 32 – entered 166 distinct entries in the 2023 Arts Council photo contest whose theme was “Shades of Blue’. The three judges, Phoenix Marks, Fine Art Photographer, Stacy Daughtery, Fine Art Photographer, and Lifrancis Rojas, Visual Artist were impressed with the quality and variety of the submissions.
Lifrancis, Director of the Photo Contest, noted, “The Summer Photo contest was truly a success, and I find immense joy in how the Instagram feed looks with the enchanting “Shades of Blue” theme. The participants not only embraced the theme but also showcased remarkable creativity and originality, which left me in awe. Winners and Most-Liked were:
- First Place – Flavia Celestino – $100
- Second Place – Ira Abels – $75
- Third Place – Ira Abels – $50
- Most Liked – Alejandra Amaya – $25
- The top 25 photos will be exhibited at the Weston Branch Library from September 1st to October 5th. There will be a reception to honor the photo artists.
