Want to know more about our city’s fascinating history? With the Hollywood Historical Society’s many Tours, you can learn quite a bit, both on your own or with our trained guides and docents.
Come join our Downtown Hollywood Walking Tour on the first Sunday of any month, during Downtown’s Dream Car Classic show. Meet at the NE corner of 21st Avenue and Hollywood Blvd. at 11 am. The easy walk lasts 60-90 minutes.
If you’d rather tour on your own, pick up maps for self-guided walking tours at our Research Center (the heart of the organization and the source for all the info) behind Hammerstein House, 1520 Polk Street. While you’re there, take a docent-led tour through Hammerstein House itself, and see how a typical couple lived in Hollywood in the middle of the last century! Call 954-923-5590 for hours.
Quickly gaining popularity are our Bike Tours — City and Beach. These will resume in the Fall; dates to be announced.
Are you familiar with the Historical Plaque program? Check out historic buildings all over town on your own — download printable copies of self-led Plaque Tours and Walking Tours at the HHS website.
Plans are in the works for more specialized tours — watch our website and our Facebook pages for information. Most tours are at no cost, though your donations are so appreciated and allow us to offer these and all our other community benefits at low or no charge.
